When Donald Trump returns to the White House on Monday, January 2025, he reportedly has made a number of remarks regarding his plans for “day one,” including a commitment to move quickly.
Priorities on his agenda reportedly include closing the border and halting the migrant invasion, implementing the biggest deportation campaign in American history, bringing inflation under control, positioning America as the world’s leading energy producer, and transforming the US into a manufacturing giant.
However, Trump has listed a number of “day one” priorities, including ending the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, closing the border, implementing plans for deportations, reducing federal support for schools that promote gender ideology and Critical Race Theory, requiring vaccinations, and more.
Trump and his closest advisors met with Republican senators on Wednesday night to discuss their plans for 100 executive orders.
According to reports, Stephen Miller, a longtime Trump immigration adviser, informed senators Wednesday night that they intend to utilize executive power to address the border on the first day.
This entails erecting the border wall, establishing detention centers for migrants, enforcing new restrictions on asylum, and reintroducing Title 42, the COVID-era regulation that permits officials to swiftly detain migrants who are caught at the border.
The plan involves utilizing the Immigration and Nationality Act’s provision that permits state and local law enforcement to support ICE.
Trump also intends to suspend taxpayer-funded transgender operations for military members, such as hormone treatments and surgeries that render members temporarily un-deployable, according to two sources who were apparently familiar with his plans and spoke to NBC.
Additionally, it has been reported that Trump will stop paying military personnel’s travel expenses if they wish to have abortions.
Trump also might issue an executive order on the first day that would prohibit federal employees and programs related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
It has also been reported that he may pardon many of those involved in the January 6th capitol riot, and ban men who claim they are women from participating in women’s sports.
