Netanyahu Defends Musk Over Claims he Made Nazi Gesture at Rally

Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, has reportedly refuted the assertion that Elon Musk gave a Sieg Heil salute during a recent rally for President Donald Trump on Inauguration Day.

In a statement released on Thursday, Netanyahu stated that Musk is a “great friend of Israel” who is being “falsely smeared.”

During a rally that took place in Washington, District of Columbia, on Monday, following the swearing-in ceremony for President Trump, Elon Musk was introduced to tremendous acclaim.

He then on to declare that Trump’s victory in the 2020 election was “hardly an ordinary victory.”

After a few moments, he repeated the same move while continuing to express his gratitude to the crowd for winning the election of Trump.

On the internet, a significant number of Musk’s critics felt that he was engaging in a Sieg Heil move, while others contended that he was only expressing gratitude with a gesture that was little awkward.

Netanyahu entered the dispute on Thursday, stating an open defense of Musk.

“@elonmusk is being falsely smeared. Elon is a great friend of Israel. He visited Israel after the October 7 massacre in which Hamas terrorists committed the worst atrocity against the Jewish people since the Holocaust. He has since repeatedly and forcefully supported Israel’s right to defend itself against genocidal terrorists and regimes who seek to annihilate the one and only Jewish state.” the prime minister stated.

“I thank him for this.” he added.
Musk traveled to Israel and met with Netanyahu in November 2023, which was approximately one month and a half after the incident on October 7.
