Donald Trump, the President of the United States, disclosed on Tuesday that he had a backup plan in place and had “left instructions” for the manner in which the United States should react in the event that Iran is successful in carrying out an assassination attempt against him.
These remarks were delivered by President Trump immediately prior to his highly publicized meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
During this meeting, Trump signed an executive order that increased the amount of pressure that is being applied to Iran in a bid to prevent the country from getting a nuclear weapon.
In answer to a question posed by Peter Doocy, a correspondent for Fox News who covers the White House, President Trump stated that he had already taken measures to plan a response in the event that Iran attempted to take retaliatory action against him personally.
As a result of the fact that U.S. officials had already thwarted at least one such attempt on the president’s life, which was orchestrated by Iran, fears that Iran would take such extraordinary measures are not at all unwarranted.
“Iran and their proxies have threatened to retaliate against you by killing you guys for taking out [Qasem] Soleimani,” Doocy remarked.

“That would be a terrible thing for them to do, not because of me. If they did that, they would be obliterated. That would be the end. I’ve left instructions.”

“Well, they haven’t done that. And that would be a terrible thing for them to do. Not because of me, because if they did that, they would be obliterated. That would be the end. I’ve left instructions — if they do it, they get obliterated. There won’t be anything left.” Trump said in response.
