New Study Shows Only 32 Percent Support AI

According to the most recent findings from the Edelman Trust Barometer, reportedly only around one third of Americans have faith in artificial intelligence (AI-related technologies).

Based on the findings of the annual global study titled “Insights for the Technology Sector,” it was found that just 32 percent of individuals in the United States have shown trust in the fast evolving technology.

Americans have a very different perspective on artificial intelligence compared to their Chinese counterparts, who have stated that they have a high level of faith in AI.

When it comes to artificial intelligence, the globe as a whole is divided, with only 49 percent of people stating they trust the technology.

With regard to artificial intelligence, industrialized nations as a whole were more likely to be skeptical.

With less than thirty percent of people expressing faith in the technology, Ireland, Australia, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Germany had some of the lowest levels of trust out of all the countries.

In contrast, India and Nigeria had the highest levels of trust, with 77 percent and 76 percent, respectively, of their citizens having faith in the government.

Less than a third of people in Spain, the United States of America, Sweden, Germany, and France are happy with the idea of corporations utilizing artificial intelligence.

This is a comparable geographical divide that exists in terms of how comfortable people are with the idea.

Among the countries that expressed high levels of comfort with the use of artificial intelligence by enterprises, India was once again at the opposite end of the spectrum, joining Indonesia, Nigeria, China, and Saudi Arabia.

Based on the findings of the poll, it was discovered that women, those of a more advanced age, and those with lower incomes were less inclined to trust artificial intelligence (AI) or feel comfortable with businesses that utilized the technology.
