Bannon Casts Doubt Over Musk’s DOGE Claims

Steve Bannon has now reportedly expressed skepticism about Elon Musk’s ambitious goal for DOGE, questioning whether the initiative can truly reach a target of $1 trillion.

On his podcast, Bannon called for greater transparency regarding the financial specifics of DOGE, suggesting that Musk should provide a clear figure for potential savings.

He argued that the federal budget negotiations will require substantial spending cuts, but he doubts that the waste and inefficiencies in the system will amount to the projected trillion-dollar goal.

While Bannon acknowledged the efforts of DOGE, he emphasized that the scale of waste, fraud, and abuse present in government programs is unlikely to yield such a high return.

“This is not a smear against DOGE. I love what DOGE is attempting to do, but the waste, fraud, and abuse is not going to be $1 trillion. It’s just not going to be,” Bannon said.

He warned that if the goal is not met, Democrats could exploit this failure to undermine President Trump’s credibility and political standing.

Bannon believes that Musk’s actions could negatively impact Trump’s polling numbers, urging for more detailed plans from DOGE.

Additionally, Bannon cautioned his followers about trusting “tech bros” who are showing support for Trump, implying that many of these individuals played a role in previous efforts to deplatform conservative voices.

He advised his audience to remain wary of these figures, suggesting they may not have the best interests of the movement at heart.

Bannon’s comments come in the context of ongoing discussions about fiscal responsibility and the need for significant cuts in government spending.

He reiterated the importance of addressing inflation and the economic challenges facing the country, positioning DOGE’s goals within a broader narrative of accountability and transparency in government financial practices.
