Chuck Todd Warns Kamala Harris Over Her Lack of Political Future

In a recent discussion on NBCLA’s “News Conference,” Chuck Todd, former moderator of NBC’s “Meet the Press,” reportedly offered a candid assessment of Kamala Harris’s political future.

Amid speculations about her potential run for California governor or even a 2028 presidential bid, Todd urged Harris to “be above politics” for the next few years.

His comments followed reports indicating that Harris would decide on a gubernatorial run by the end of summer.

Todd expressed skepticism about Harris’s political strategy, stating he would be “shocked” if she opted to run for governor.

He pointed out that a gubernatorial campaign in 2026 would compromise her chances for a presidential run in 2028.

Given her high-profile status, Todd warned that Harris’s recognition could prove to be a disadvantage as California voters may be inclined to seek fresh faces rather than established Democratic leaders like her and incumbent Governor Gavin Newsom.

Todd elaborated that Harris’s challenge lies in marketing herself as a candidate for change while simultaneously contending with Newsom’s governorship.

He noted that voters might look for “somebody from the outside” when considering their options, complicating her appeal as a former Vice President and Senator.

To reposition her career positively, Todd suggested that Harris focus on smaller public roles or community projects, such as engaging with the LA Olympic Committee or contributing to urban rebuilding efforts.

He advised her to distance herself from the political limelight for a few years before re-entering the national stage, possibly considering a run in 2030 or 2032.

Ultimately, Todd underscored his concerns, stating, “I just don’t see the path for her,” reflecting the tough road ahead for Harris in her political aspirations.
