On Friday, enduring CNN personality John Avlon made the formal declaration of his departure from the network.
Since January 2010, Avlon has held the position of senior political analyst and anchor at the network, per his LinkedIn profile. In the past, he held the positions of managing director and editor-in-chief at The Daily Beast.
In a segment of “CNN This Morning” on Friday, Avlon’s colleagues Poppy Harlow and Phil Mattingly bid farewell, noting that the latter would visit on an intermittent basis as a guest.
Avlon, conversely, paid his respects to his tenure at the network.
A number of CNN personalities have left the network in recent years as a result of the significant personnel changes that ensued after former CNN President Jeff Zucker resigned in February 2022.
In addition, significant personnel and lineup adjustments were made to the network following the appointment of former President Chris Licht in place of Mark Zucker.
