Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) criticized New York Judge Arthur Engoron on Thursday, calling for his removal following the $355 million business fraud verdict against former President Trump last week.
The judge determined that Trump and his company engaged in business fraud by manipulating asset values, such as inflating the worth of his Florida residence, the Mar-a-Lago club.
“Judge Engoron should be disrobed and thrown out, he’s a disgrace!!” Greene wrote on social media.
“Mar-a-lago in 1981 was only a home, today it is one of the most exclusive social clubs in the world. Mar-a-lago is worth more now than the ridiculous judgement he ruled against Pres Trump!” Greene continued.
Trump stated that the property’s value exceeds $1 billion, whereas Engoron accepted an appraiser’s valuation in Palm Beach ranging from $18 million to $27 million.
Trump has refuted any allegations of fraud and has stated his intention to appeal.
He is also prohibited from running businesses in New York for a period of three years.
Trump’s legal team has asked for a 30-day delay on the verdict to postpone the payment of the judgment.
