Bill O’Reilly is now claiming that Donald Trump has never aligned with conservative values.
During a discussion with Curt Mills, the executive director of American Conservative, O’Reilly asserted that Trump showed little regard for conservative thought.
O’Reilly made the case that Trump’s political stance leans towards the center-right due to practical considerations.
“Donald Trump’s not a conservative. You know that, and if you don’t, read my book The United States of Trump. He’s never been a conservative. He couldn’t even tell you what the conservative philosophy is. He’s a dealmaker, but his supporters are largely right and ultra-right. They love him. Does it bother you as the director of The American Conservative that Trump isn’t really conservative?” O’Reilly asked his guest.
He lauded his conservative Supreme Court selections and asserted that these judges are currently playing a crucial role in safeguarding the nation.
According to the former Fox News host, the potential outcome of Hillary Clinton winning the 2016 election and appointing liberal judges to the court would have resulted in significantly more severe consequences.
“I think he’s populist. I think he’s center right for practical reasons. Best thing that Trump did in his four years outside of running the economy efficiently was the appointments to the Supreme Court. If Hillary Clinton had won the election, she would have loaded it up with liberal judges, and you think it’s bad now in the neighborhoods? What’s happening to New York City right as we speak because I’m here would be happening all over the country if Hillary Clinton had won and appointed those Supreme Court Justices.” O’Reilly stated about Trump.
President Trump appointed Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett to serve on the Supreme Court. Since then, a number of contentious viewpoints have emerged, with one of the most significant being the overturning of Roe v. Wade.
