Rep. Andy Ogles (R-Tenn.) proposed that Hunter Biden’s conviction in the federal gun charges case could provide “an opportunity” for Michelle Obama to consider running for the White House.
Ogles addressed the issue on Wednesday’s episode of “Mornings with Maria” on Fox Business.
He underscored the importance of “pursuing justice” before speculating that President Biden may withdraw from the race in light of his son’s guilty verdict.
“That being said, I think it also creates an opening for Democrats like Michelle Obama in here. The Biden family can say, ‘Hey, we’re going to take care of our house, we’re going to take care of our son,’ and then allow Michelle Obama to come in and run,” he remarked.
“Because again, Joe Biden can’t win this election, and they know that they are desperate for another candidate,” he added.
The former first lady has officially stated that she is not interested in pursuing a presidential campaign in order to return to the White House.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) are among the numerous Republicans who have suggested that Obama could supplant Biden on the ballot in November.
Nevertheless, Obama has consistently denied any rumors that she would seek the presidency, stating in 2019 that there was “zero chance” of her launching a campaign.
Hunter Biden, the son of the president, was found guilty of three felony gun offenses on Tuesday after a trial that lasted approximately one week.
In a statement issued subsequent to the verdict, President Biden declared that he would embrace the result of the case.
Numerous Republicans and Trump supporters have claimed that President Biden capitalized on his son’s business ventures.
