Following reports from Dulles International Airport authorities that they discovered a pistol during a security check, Rep. Victoria Spartz (R-IN) has how reportedly officially been issued a court summons for an alleged firearms violation.
During passenger security screening, TSA agents at Dulles International Airport outside of Washington, D.C. discovered a handgun with a caliber of.380.
When the gun was screened, it was unloaded.
Representing Indiana’s 5th congressional district, Spartz emerged victorious from a field of contenders seeking the GOP nomination in the primary.
She is the first member of Congress to be born in Ukraine and has been in office since 2021.
As the country in eastern Europe struggles to repel the ongoing Russian invasion that started in February 2022, the legislator is against US assistance to Ukraine.
The congresswoman is not the first member of Congress to pass airport security with a gun. Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-NC), as she was then, received a citation in 2022 for bringing a gun into Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
