Former Fox News star Tucker Carlson has now ascended to the top of Spotify’s podcast listings this week, dethroning Joe Rogan as the most listened to man in America.
Joe Rogan’s Joe Rogan Experience podcast, which is exclusively available on Spotify, has long been the most-listened-to podcast, despite his recent decline to second place.
Rogan renewed his contract with Spotify, the most frequently used audio platform in the United States, in early 2024 for an estimated $250 million over a number of years.
Rogan’s staggering Spotify salary is a testament to the profitability and reach of his program, which has now surpassed Carlson in terms of audience, at least for Thursday.
Rogan had approximately 14.5 million Spotify followers as of March 2024.
Rogan also has a substantial following on YouTube, while Carlson broadcasts his program on X.
Carlson, who was terminated from Fox in April of last year while co-hosting the most popular cable news program in America, launched his podcast on the recently established Tucker Carlson Network in December of the previous year.
An interview with former Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson was featured on Carlson’s most recent Thursday show.
However, the program frequently features guests who are populist right-wing figures and comedians, which are frequently featured on Rogan’s program.
Carlson’s ascent to the peak of podcast popularity coincides with former President Trump’s reelection campaign against Vice President Kamala Harris.
