Bill O’Reilly has now claimed that Donald Trump “blew it” when he spoke at a National Association of Black Journalists luncheon in Chicago.
The former host of Fox News spoke with Chris Cuomo of NewsNation on Wednesday night to discuss Trump’s Q&A session the same day.
Vice President Kamala Harris, among other statements and heated clashes during the conference, have earned the former president criticism, with one of his claims being that she Harris “turned Black.”
The moment for Trump, according to O’Reilly, is “the same thing” as his famously heated argument with Megyn Kelly in 2015.
“This will be looped over and over and over again, more people will think he’s a racist, and Kamala Harris is going, hey, look at me! Kamala Harris gave a very, very good speech in Atlanta. Very smooth. Very under control. Totally deceptive speech. Totally deceptive. No media outlet called her on it. She said Trump refused to debate her. That’s not true. Trump gave her a little jazz,” O’Reilly said.
“I didn’t know she was Black until a number of years ago when she happened to turn Black, and now she wants to be known as Black. So I don’t know, is she Indian, or is she Black? I respect either one, but she obviously doesn’t, because she was Indian all the way, and then all of a sudden, she made a turn, she went — she became Black. Somebody should look into that.” Trump continued.
“The broadside against Kamala Harris is that she’s a phony, that she used one bit of ethnicity to do this, one bit of ethnicity to do that, but Trump didn’t articulate it,” he added.
The former president and the journalist “blew it,” according to O’Reilly.
