Despite the fact that inflation has soared over the past four years during the Biden-Harris administration, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) reportedly announced on Thursday night that electing Vice President Kamala Harris as president would result in lower grocery prices.
“You know what I love best about Kamala Harris? Kamala Harris can’t be bought and she can’t be bossed around. We need to make life more affordable for working people.” Warren proclaimed.
The remarks were made by Warren during her speech on the final night of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago on Thursday.
She maintained throughout her speech that Harris would be more adept at addressing economic and social concerns.
“Donald Trump, the felon, has no plans to lower costs for families. He doesn’t know how, and basically, he doesn’t really care. The only bills he worries about are from his criminal defense lawyers.” she continued.
However, under the Biden-Harris administration, inflation has been a persistent issue, with bread, ground beef, fruits, livestock, and vegetables all experiencing increases that exceeded 40-year highs at various points.
Since 2020, the price of dairy products, including milk, cheese, and butter, has increased by over 30%.
Across the nation, the average price of cereal has increased by 28%, while the price of eggs has increased 54 percent.
Last week, Harris acknowledged that prices were higher than they were under Trump during a rally in North Carolina.
