Wisconsin Supreme Court Stops Dems From Trying to Eliminate Third Party Candidate Jill Stein From Ballot

On Monday, Wisconsin’s left-leaning Supreme Court rejected Democratic efforts to exclude Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein from the ballot this fall.

David Strange, in his capacity as Deputy Operations Director-Wisconsin for the Democrat National Committee and as an individual, submitted a petition to have Stein removed from the ballot.

Democrats are concerned that Stein could deprive Democratic presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris of sufficient votes to enable Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump to secure the critical swing state, which could help him achieve the 270 electoral votes required to secure the election.

The lawsuit to remove Stein from the ballot was concentrated on allegations that the Green Party was ineligible to be on the ballot due to the absence of any candidates for state office and the absence of any officeholders in the state who could nominate presidential electors.

“This is a big win against the anti-Democratic Party’s war on democracy and voter choice. The Democrats constantly preach about ‘saving democracy,’ when in reality they’ve been doing everything they can to crush democracy by trying to remove the Green Party and others from the ballot.” Stein said in a statement in the wake of the decision.
