On Tuesday, Donald Trump revealed his latest policy initiative, outlining plans to confiscate the assets of criminal organizations, including cartels and gangs, to fund restitution for victims affected by migrant-related crimes.
Speaking at his Mar-a-Lago estate, Trump declared, “For the first time, under my administration, we will be seizing the assets of the criminal gangs and drug cartels, and we will use those assets to create a compensation fund to provide restitution for the victims of migrant crime,” He added, “The government will help in the restitution.”
Throughout his campaign, Trump has consistently highlighted the issue of “migrant crime,” blaming the Biden administration for what he views as excessive amounts of illegal immigration.

Earlier this year, a tragic incident involved a Venezuelan national, unlawfully present in the U.S., accused of kidnapping and murdering 22-year-old Laken Riley, a University of Georgia student.
In February, authorities charged Jose Antonio Ibarra, 26, with murder and kidnapping in Athens, Georgia. He was initially encountered by border officials near El Paso, Texas, in September 2022.
President Biden addressed Riley’s death during a State of the Union speech but mispronounced her name, later expressing regret over labeling Ibarra as “illegal.”
During a rally, Trump criticized Biden’s border policies and his mispronunciation, stating, “What Joe Biden has done on our border is a crime against humanity and the people of this nation for which he will never be forgiven,” claiming Riley “would be alive today if Joe Biden had not willfully and maliciously eviscerated the borders of the United States.”
In another shocking case, two Venezuelans face capital murder charges for the killing of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray in Houston. Johan Jose Martinez-Rangel, 22, and Franklin Pena, 25, allegedly lured Nungaray from a store and assaulted her before strangling her.
The girl’s mother blamed Biden-Harris policies for her death, stating, “They made her a target … and now I will forever be a grieving mother, and my son will forever be a grieving brother who will no longer get to grow up with his sister.”
