After being released at the frontier by federal authorities, an illegal alien and suspected terrorist from South Africa was reportedly apprehended in New York City.
Umar Farooq Ashraf, an 18-year-old young man, was apprehended at a Brooklyn apartment three months after he was released into the United States by federal agents.
He had illegally entered the nation through the southern border.
In September, the Texas Department of Public Safety in Normandy apprehended Ashraf after determining that the South African national was a “spouse or child of a known or suspected terrorist,” as per the Terrorist Screening Center website.
It is not immediately apparent to which terror organization the individual is believed to be affiliated.
The Texas Department of Public Safety subsequently transferred Ashraf to federal authorities, who subsequently permitted the foreign national to enter the country, despite his previous involvement in terrorist activities.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents were subsequently required to apprehend the individual in a collaborative operation.
On the heels of yet another apprehension of illegal aliens in the Bronx, Ashraf was apprehended.
A operation was conducted by federal agents and officers of the New York Police Department in the vicinity of the Crotona Park neighborhood in the Bronx earlier this month, which led to the arrest of seven illegal aliens who are suspected of being members of the violent Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua.
The residence was discovered by the authorities after they monitored an individual who had been previously arrested and was wearing an ankle monitor.
The arrests are being made in conjunction with President-elect Donald Trump’s announcement that he will implement the most extensive mass deportation operation in American history.
Homan, who previously served as the Acting Director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, has been appointed as his border administrator.
