Trump Shreds Reporter after Clueless Question on DC Plane Crash

On Thursday, President Donald Trump reportedly made fun of a reporter who asked a ridiculous question regarding his visit to the scene of the passenger plane accident in the Potomac River this week.

Trump was responding to some questions from reporters in the Oval Office after signing an executive order when the discussion took place.

“Do you have a plan to go visit the site or meet with any of the first responders?” the reporter asked Trump.

“I have a plan to visit, not the site, because you tell me, what’s the site? The water?” Trump said in response.

“You want me to go swimming?” Trump inquired.

Trump issued two executive orders on Thursday in response to the terrible plane and helicopter crash at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, which prompted the exchange.

Chris Rochelau was named the Federal Aviation Administration’s deputy administrator under Trump’s first executive order.

At the signing, Will Scharf, the president’s staff secretary, said that Rochelau will take over as acting administrator because the administrator position is now unfilled.

Trump emphasized to reporters Thursday that his administration places a high priority on hiring people according on their qualifications and merit, even though it is unknown how DEI policies contributed to the fatal plane crash.

“We want the most competent people. We don’t care what race they are. We want the most competent people, especially in those positions. You’re talking about extremely complex things, and if they don’t have a great brain, a great power of the brain, they’re not going to be very good at what they do, and bad things will happen.” Trump said.
