A new CNN report suggests that soon, dozens of FBI agents who worked to investigate the riot the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021, as well as the case against President Donald Trump involving sensitive materials that has since been rejected, could lose their jobs.
This report aligns with earlier reports that a “purge” is currently taking place. The purge is intended to eliminate the chiefs of FBI field offices located all throughout the country who were involved in colluding against the President.
Interim executives at the Justice Department have spent the past week compiling lists of individuals whose work at the FBI has generated disapproval from President Trump for a number of reasons.
These individuals have been included on the lists. Those in top positions inside the FBI have sent a warning to agents and analysts, stating that they may be asked to leave or face termination.
A number of individuals who were anticipated to lose their jobs or be reassigned were informed via email that they were being terminated as a result of their participation in “prosecuting the President,” as reported by CNN on Friday.
It was communicated to six senior FBI officials that they had until Monday to either retire early, quit, or be removed from their positions.
The news that David Sundberg, who has been working for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as the assistant director in charge of the Washington Field Office since December 2022, was informed that he would be losing his position on Thursday was reported by NBC News on Friday afternoon.
Following Trump’s victory in the election held in November, the lawsuit involving the confidential information was closed.
