Dan Abrams Slams Media for Ignoring Fraud Investigation Into New York Attorney General

Dan Abrams, founder of Mediaite, reportedly expressed his astonishment at the media’s lack of coverage regarding a significant fraud investigation into New York Attorney General Letitia James.

During a recent episode of his show on SiriusXM’s POTUS channel, Abrams discussed serious allegations against James, including mortgage fraud and falsifying documents related to properties she owns in Norfolk, Virginia, and Brooklyn, New York.

Abrams pointed out that the allegations stem from a criminal referral made by the Federal Housing Finance Agency, asserting that if proven true, this would not only pose legal troubles for James but also reveal a glaring hypocrisy given her previous prosecution of President Donald Trump for alleged fraudulent activities.

In Norfolk, she is accused of misrepresenting her residency to secure a better mortgage rate, while in Brooklyn, she allegedly obtained a loan meant for four-family properties for a five-family building.

Initially, Abrams thought the investigation might be politically motivated, but after reviewing the detailed allegations, he deemed them credible and serious.

He noted that James’ response to the New York Times—providing documentation that claimed she never intended to occupy the Norfolk property as her primary residence—did not alleviate his concerns.

Former New York Attorney General Dennis Vacco, a guest on the show, agreed that the situation doesn’t reflect well on James. He suggested that responding through her office instead of her legal counsel could complicate her defense.

Abrams concluded by criticizing media outlets across the political spectrum for failing to adequately cover these developments, stating, “I believe the attorney general of New York is going to get charged by the feds here criminally. This is going to be a big deal.”
