Fulton County’s District Attorney is requesting a special grand jury be convened to investigate Donald Trump’s attempts to overturn the 2020 election results.
District Attorney Fani Willis is asking a judge to convene the grand jury in order to secure key testimony.
The special grand jury would not be able to criminally indict Trump, but could make recommendations.
Trump slammed the “civil grand jury” stating, “What this Civil Special Grand Jury should be looking into is not my perfect phone call, but the large scale voter fraud that took place in Georgia…No more political witch hunts!”
Trump called the result fraudulent and tried to get them overturned. Ultimately Georgia elected Joe Biden, the first Democrat elected by the state since 1992.
