Former Fox News anchor Chris Wallace has finally broken his silence on why he left the network in December. Wallace left the network for CNN and its new streaming service.
Wallace was seen as a straight newsman at Fox, one that upset the audience for his reporting on hot button issues, and that was part of his reason to leave. Wallace had enough of the hyperbolic opinion at his former network.
In an interview with DNUYZ said “I just no longer felt comfortable with the programming at Fox.”
Wallace went on to say, “I’m fine with opinion: conservative opinion, liberal opinion… But when people start to question the truth — Who won the 2020 election? Was Jan. 6 an insurrection? — I found that unsustainable.”
The environment caused Wallace to start looking for jobs for most of 2021, describing the environment as one that dramatically shifted into hyperbole following the November 2020.
Wallace’s new show “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?” starts Tuesday on CNN’s new streaming service, CNN+.
