Well-known Trump supporter and 2020 election skeptic Mike Lindell claims he was stopped by the FBI Tuesday.
Lindell says he was returning from an Iowa hunting trip when the incident happened.
He was surrounded while at a Hardee’s fast food restaurant in Makato, Minnesota when the FBI approached him.
“Cars pulled up in front of us, to the side of us, and behind us and I said those are either bad guys or the FBI. Well, it turns out they were the FBI,” claimed Lidell.
“We’re taking your cell phone…we have a warrant for your cell phone,” said the approaching FBI officer according to Lindell.
Lindell said at first he resisted because he runs his five companies and his hearing aids from his mobile device.
Lindell asked the agent if he could call his attorney. After consulting his attorney by phone, Lindell said he decided to hand his phone over to authorities because they would have used physical force if he refused.
“I can’t even imagine that you can take someone’s phone because they want me to be a witness in the Tina Peters case. But I’m not a witness, they just want my phone,” Lindell explained.
It’s unclear at this time if the agents approached him before or after he was able to enjoy a meal at Hardee’s.
