After being indicted this week, former President Donald Trump will reportedly have his arraignment on Tuesday afternoon at a courthouse in Manhattan, according to officials from the court who spoke on Friday.
Joseph Tacopina, an attorney for Donald Trump, has stated that he does not anticipate that his client would be placed in handcuffs when he turns himself in, and that Trump will not take a plea offer.
At the time of Trump’s expected voluntary surrender to the police, his fingerprints and photographs will reportedly be collected. Following that, Trump is scheduled to make his initial appearance in court.
Late in the day on Thursday, the judge presiding over the case gave his approval to an order that would allow Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg to make the indictment available to the general public.
Afterwards, Bragg issued a statement in which he confirmed the charge and indicated that preparations were being made for him to surrender to authorities.
The New York City Police Department has issued an order to every member of the department, which includes 36,000 officers and 19,000 civilian employees, to report to work in full uniform as a show of force to discourage any potential unrest that may occur.
Trump is the first former President in U.S. history to ever be indicted on criminal charges.
