Mitch McConnell Announces His Intention to Return to Senate

After suffering a fall and needing more than a month to heal, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has reportedly revealed that he intends to return to work the following week in the upper chamber in the near future.

McConnell, who is 81 years old, has been resting since his office disclosed, at the beginning of March, that the senator had slipped and fallen while attending a private dinner at a hotel in Washington.

According to his office, McConnell was left with a concussion and a mild rib fracture after the incident.

A couple of days later, McConnell was released from the hospital, and on March 26, the senator announced that he was back home after completing physical rehabilitation at an inpatient institution.

McConnell declared at the time that he would take the recommendation of his physical therapists and work from the comfort of his own home for the next several days.

McConnell said that he is looking “forward to returning in person to the Senate soon.”

“I am looking forward to returning to the Senate on Monday.” McConnell said in a tweet announcing his return to the Senate.
