Elise Stefanik, a Republican representative from New York, reportedly may be considered by former president Donald Trump as his choice for vice president.
According to a new report from The Daily Caller that Stefanik possesses the qualities that Trump’s campaign will be searching for in a vice president.
She has supported him throughout the impeachment process and the New York indictment, and she was the first member of the Republican leadership to support his campaign for president before Trump did.
Trump may select her based on devotion if she remains steadfast in her pledge.
“Loyalty. That’s the necessary characteristic of anyone who wants to be VP. President Trump and the movement was dragged down by disloyalty in the White House,” a source close to Trump reportedly said.
“She absolutely has more, let’s just call it ‘testicular fortitude’ than most men in the Republican Party. She’s got more balls than any other candidate that might be considered for vice president,” Trump advisor Michael Caputo noted.
“She’s one of the most convincing surrogates [for Trump] out of all of them. In some ways, Elise Stefanik, because of her distance from the problems of the past of Donald Trump, will be able to make a case for Donald Trump better than the candidate himself,” he continued.
According to Trump insiders, neither a short list nor meaningful negotiations have been held to restrict the field for his running partner. However, it appears that Stefanik may be very close to the top of the short list when it finally comes together.
