Prosecutor for Department of Justice who Refused to Charge Hunter Biden Reportedly Donated to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris

Federal Election Commission (FEC) records now reportedly reveal that one of the federal prosecutors who reportedly failed to prosecute Hunter Biden with tax fraud provided money to President Joe Biden while working in the private sector, while the other gave money to Vice President Kamala Harris.

According to testimony from IRS Whistleblower Gary Shapley, U.S. Attorney David Weiss, a Trump appointee who oversaw the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) investigation into Hunter Biden, asked the U.S. Attorneys for the Central District of California and the District of Columbia to each file tax charges against Hunter Biden.

Shapley stated that Biden-appointed U.S. Attorneys for the District of Columbia, Matthew Graves, and the Central District of California, E. Martin Estrada, both denied Weiss’ petitions.

Shapley claims that after each request was turned down, Weiss asked for special counsel power, but Attorney General Merrick Garland rejected his demands.

Eleanor Holmes Norton, a Democrat and representative from Washington, D.C., recommended Graves for nomination by the Biden administration.

He left his position as a partner at the legal firm DLA Piper when he was sworn in as the U.S. Attorney for Washington, D.C., in November 2021.

According to FEC records, Graves contributed to Joe Biden’s presidential campaign twice while employed at DLA Piper. During the Democratic presidential primaries, Graves contributed Biden for President $500 in April 2020 and $1,000 in May 2020.

Prior to joining DLA Piper, Graves worked for the U.S. Attorney’s office in the Fraud and Corruption section.

In 2015, he was elevated to Acting Chief of the division.
