Former personal lawyer for former President Trump Michael Cohen revealed in a recent interview that he is thinking about running for Congress.
Cohen informed Semafor that he is “interested” in seeking the Democratic nomination. The fact that Cohen now resides on Manhattan’s East Side suggests that he may run for the 12th Congressional District of New York, which is currently represented by Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.).
“I am interested and there’s a multitude of folks encouraging me to run,” Cohen reportedly said.
In 2018, Cohen entered a plea of guilty to charges of violating the campaign finance laws in connection with a payment to porn star Stormy Daniels, who claims she had an affair with Trump. In recent years, Cohen has changed from a supporter of Trump to one who warns against the strategies and acts of his ex-boss.
In March in New York City, an indictment against Trump was also brought about by the payments to Daniels. The first of three indictments the former president has faced recently was this one.
