Friday, a plane was reportedly escorted out of a restricted area by fighter planes as President Biden and his family were on vacation in Lake Tahoe, Nevada.
About 7:50 a.m. Pacific time, a civilian aircraft breached the Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) region near Lake Tahoe. In response, two North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) F-16 fighter jets and a U.S. Coast Guard aircraft reacted.
There was no risk to civilians on the ground, according to NORAD, despite the fact that the aircraft released flares that might have been visible to the general population to draw the pilot’s attention.
The president will return to the White House on Saturday after spending the past week in Lake Tahoe.
Tom Steyer, a climate activist and former Democratic contender for president, and his wife Kat Taylor are renting the lakefront home from the Bidens.
After the disturbance on Friday morning, Biden departed the residence and crossed the state boundary into California in Lake Tahoe. There, the president participated in a Pilates session with family members.
