According to multiple reports, the wife of Democratic California Governor Gavin Newsom intervened to conclude a debate with Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis on Thursday.
Two governors subsequently reached a consensus to prolong “The Great Red State vs. Blue State” debate beyond its initially scheduled 90 minutes in Alpharetta, Georgia, where the debate was presided over by Fox News’ Sean Hannity.
Newsom and DeSantis both took part in the debate. Immediately after the agreement was reached in real time, Hannity terminated the discussion during a commercial break; Jennifer Siebel Newsom, representing her husband, interjected, according to a number of DeSantis aides and other sources.
Subsequently, Newsom advisers refute the claim that his spouse precipitated the conclusion of the debate, contending that personnel affiliated with both governors reached a consensus on the matter.
Concerning the policies of their respective states, the two governors quarreled frequently, primarily concerning crime, the economy, and a multitude of social issues.
The governor of Florida displayed a human excrement map that, in his opinion, represented the former mayor of San Francisco, Gavin Newsom.
