Evidently, Elon Musk holds a contrasting viewpoint regarding diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs, and is now contending that these endeavors are detrimental and should be discontinued.
“DEI must DIE,” the tech magnate declared on his social media platform X on Friday.
“The point was to end discrimination, not replace it with different discrimination.” Musk wrote.
DEI policies have been subject to heightened scrutiny in recent months due to an upsurge in antisemitic sentiments observed on college campuses subsequent to the October 7 terrorist attack on Israel by Hamas.
Critics contend that the programs exhibit bias towards specific “protected” groups, while permitting animosity towards others, in this instance Jewish students and faculty.
Elon Musk has recently joined an expanding group of prominent individuals who have recently expressed disapproval regarding the results of DEI programs.
This comes amid backlash stemming from the refusal of the presidents of Harvard, the University of Pennsylvania, and MIT to acknowledge that calling for the genocide of Jews on their respective campuses violated antisemitism regulations and constituted harassment during a House hearing.
