Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) asserted on Thursday that her two daughters were “swatted”; this occurred days after what she estimated to be her eighth incident of swatting.
The term “swat” denotes a widespread reaction by law enforcement personnel to fabricated allegations of an emergency, frequently taking place in the residences of public officials.
No further details were provided by Greene regarding the incidents that her daughters encountered.
Greene disclosed that she had been struck at her residence in Rome, Georgia, for approximately the eighth time on Christmas Day.
Twice within the past two years, Greene’s residence has been the target of multiple swatting incidents. A caller claimed a shooting occurred at Greene’s residence in August 2022, and the following day, another caller speculated that Greene’s family may have been the target of the gunfire.
In recent days, additional public officials, including Senator Rick Scott (R-Fla.), Representative Brandon Williams (R-N.Y.), and Boston Mayor Michelle Wu (D), have disclosed instances of swarming.
